Can Too Much Sexual Intercourse Loosen Up Your Vagina?

Although many people aren’t keen to discuss their sex life in much detail, one key question for generations is whether or not a loose vagina can be caused by having a lot of sex. Most people believe that women have a tighter vagina when they are a virgin but then over time, the more they have sex, the looser it will become. Both men and women often believe this to be the case, and it can cause problems in relationships if the man believes that his partner has had too many partners in the past because of their looser than average vagina.

So, can having frequent sexual intercourse give you a loose vagina?

Well, let’s remember first of all that all women are different, and those differences also extend to their vaginas. In the same way that all men have a different shape and size of penis, vaginas too come in a range of shapes and sizes. This goes a long way towards explaining why some ladies find that a large penis is pleasurable and others find the same experience very painful. Just because a woman is able to handle a bigger penis doesn’t mean that she has necessarily had a lot more sex, she may simply have a bigger vagina than some other women.

A woman’s vagina is naturally elastic and can expand and contract. If a woman becomes sexually aroused, her vagina will naturally loosen to prepare for intercourse. Once she has had sex, however, it then tightens back up and returns to its original tighter state. Having more sex cannot make it looser.

There has never been any scientific link made between having a loose vagina and having a lot of sex, and if we compare the vagina to the mouth – another body part which has been designed to contract and expand, we can see that even if you put too much food in your mouth it will never become loose, even if you do it frequently!

So, What Causes Looseness?

There are a number of factors which result in a loosened vagina, but none of them having a thing to do with frequent sex. They include:

  • Giving birth vaginally – childbirth naturally stretches a woman’s vagina considerably, after all, a baby’s head is large in comparison with her vaginal opening, however after the birth it will eventually tighten back up again, especially in younger women in their late teens or early twenties. However, if a woman has several vaginal births, it may no longer contract fully, also if a woman gives birth at an older age, the aging muscles of that area paired with the stretching of childbirth can end up causing permanent looseness, especially if the woman is older than 30.
  • Aging – as a woman gets older, her vaginal muscles naturally contract which causes them to weaken and loosen. As women reach the menopausal stage of their life, their oestrogen level will also drop causing vaginal dryness and this contributes to the problem.

Is There Any Way To Tighten The Vagina?

If you are worried that your vagina is too loose, Kegel exercises are a natural way of squeezing the pelvic floor muscles and strengthening the walls of the vagina to tighten them up. There are also gels and other treatments available which can help to improve looseness.

Therefore, you can rest assured that, while most women will experience looseness in their vagina over time, this will never be as a result of having sex.
